Summer night

With some fun through the trees.

Sunday, June 10, 2007

Fuck the Lord, Sundays are for thinking.

I hung out under this guy for about 4 hours today. He dropped a few leaves on me, always kept the sun off me no matter where it was and made me feel really good. I'm going to visit him again real soon.

Rachel & Lucy

In 1991 I was both make-up artist and photographer. I stole my mom's Avon goods, the family polaroid, and had a field day on my sister. I remember trying to talk her into this makeover scheme for the majority of the day and by the looks of it, she was pretty pleased with the "after".

Seeing red

I took a whole series (about 55 photos) with this lighting- a red shower curtain and a window with the mid-day sun coming through. My hard drive died and this is the only surviving picture. Probably the worst of the bunch, too. Sad!

Vintage Jams

My Great Uncles at 24 and 26. They started out in Windsor, Ontario and played in Detroit, Michigan, until the U.S. customs caught wind of them working in the U.S.A. That's when they headed to Montreal, Quebec and played at the Mount Royal Hotel and then Mother Martin's. They still get together today and have their jam sessions, Uncle Al at 90 and Jack at 94.

Deer Park Music Shop

Owned by my Great Grandfather, it was the first and only Columbia Records franchise in Ontario. He was extremely stingy with his money and after many disputes with expansions, his sons left and refused to work for him. As the story goes, he did not believe in banks and buried his money, not leaving anything for anyone. To this day no one knows where.

The family stone

These are family photos I found in the attic and have been scanning (for what seems to be months on end!) I just found 3 other boxes so it looks like I'll have a busy summer.

Saturday morning cartoons

We ate our cheerios and settled in for our 2nd annual spongebob-athon.

Meggie

Shows off her sweet tattoos.

Finnian

This is Finn. Not nearly two yet, he's the sweetest little dude. He is Norwegian, German and Scandinavian. His hair is Translucent. If Hitler succeeded I'd imagine this is the race he was going for.

Sam

He said his spidey senses were tingling.

We Are The World

My favorite Ann Arbor after hours entertainment. Check him in the alley on Liberty St. after midnight.
